Flacheisen

"Flacheisen" were iur first customs, the bikes that put us on the map of motorcycle manufacturers. The first customs carrying the signature of our personal style. Long before the retro-cafe-racer-wave made conversions fashionable we had built about a dozen "Flacheisen" for and with friends and customers.

The one quality that can be found in all of these bikes is the combination of classic and modern components. The often heard verdict "you cannot do that to a classic Guzzi" was never meant for us. In effect our bikes sometimes polarized and drew comments both positive and critical - and that was exactly what we wanted and what helped us developing.

Anders als Café Racer auf Guzzi Basis zeigen sich die Flacheisen zwar auch abgespeckt, aber haben häufig moderne Elemente.

Unlike cafe racers our "Flacheisen" are also reduced and lighter that stock bikes, but often have modern elements. With them we started conversions to upside-down forks, the creation of seats, the reduction of the wire harness and the use of higher quality chassis parts. Our first generation of custims hast inspired many parts that have become Radical Guzzi regulars by now. Simply we have discovered while working on Guzzis and driving them that original or even aftermarket arts often were not the best solution.

"Flacheisen" were asking for improvements like the reduced cable harness, a more effective oil separator custom fit under the tank, custom made fork bridges and al lot of other parts. They also have inspired us to develop and street-legalize our own rear fork eliminating the up-and-down movement caused by the shaft drive. But that is another long story alltogether!

Coming to think of it, there is no reaso to stop building "Flacheisen":
